Surly California Proposition 65
https://planet-cyclery.myshopify.com/pages/warning-california-proposition-65
The Surly Corner Bar Handlebar is the ultimate dirt-drop experiment for riders who want the comfort and control of drop bars without overhauling their entire drivetrain and brake setup. Designed to work with standard 22.2mm mountain bike brake levers and shifters, it provides a drop-bar riding position while keeping your familiar MTB controls intact. Made from Chromoly steel for durability and strength, it’s available in three widths and comes with shims for a precise fit.
KEY FEATURES

- DURABLE CHROMOLY CONSTRUCTION: Built tough for off-road riding and long-lasting performance.
- MULTIPLE HAND POSITIONS: Provides the comfort and control of a drop bar with the flexibility of an MTB cockpit.
- AGGRESSIVE FLARE: 41.4-degree flare for enhanced stability and control on technical terrain.

Not a Drop Bar Substitute*
"But rather a unique spin on something that has drop bar characteristics, such as multiple hand positions, but with a funky unique look and feel. Handles really great on my 90s steel frame rigid mtb…very stable on the gravel roads and I love the “drops” for steep climbs."
Great concept and thoughtfully designed
"Converting the bikepacking hard tail to drop bar was a lot less expensive and gives me the option to easily change to flat bars. The flare is perfect, and the drop is very intuitive, shifting with axs GX is easy 54, mm 6’ 2"
Cool switch up
"Not an expert on bikes but I enjoy the experience riding on these handle bars vs the flat bars. I put these on a hybrid Marin bike and took off the flats."
Q&A
- How are the Surley Cornerbar handlebars measured? 46 vs 54?
- The 46 vs 54 is only in relation to the width of the main straight part of the bar in normal riding hand positions (this is measured from center to center just like a traditional road bar). Riding in the drops or the "flare" region (aero position) the bars are quite a bit wider in overall dimensions, from 63-71 depending on which size bar you purchase. If all of this is clear as mud, I refer you to Surly's website link (it is necessary to enlarge the measurement pic to see the actual dimensions). https://surlybikes.com/parts/corner_bar
