"I like the range of this cassette but I was replacing a cassette that wasn’t worn out yet but had developed the dreaded 3 gear drop from first gear when backpedaling or rolling the bike backwards. I don’t know why this happens or how to fix it (other than replacement) but it always happens sooner or later."

"I am running this on a gravel build and it is working amazing. XT is the way to go in the shimano line for saving your freehub from extra damage with SLX or lower cassettes with individual rings. I am now running 11-40, 11-42, & 11-46 XT cassettes on different wheelsets for my 1 bike and they all have worked fantastic! (new cassette on the Revin Wheelset on the left)"
