"As someone that's been riding for nearly 40 years and experienced the challenges of snapped or dropped chains more times than I can count, these guys are a must-have for general chain installation, but especially as an emergency fix. They make removing a dropped chain easier to fix in the field. I've found Shimano's to be extremely durable and reliable, particularly compared to other brands and certainly over off-market knockoffs. I've yet to have one fail, even with thousands of miles on a chain."
