You may have ssen this before, you get all your shifter cables routed and squared away neatly on the frame, you've got the chain installed and you've got the cable stops backed all the way out so you can adjust for stretch later, and you're finally ready to install and adjust the derailleurs. But as you're sitting there pulling tension you don't quite have the tool in reach, or it's awkward to get it aligned just right. You manage to tighten the cable bolt only to find that there's still more slack than you'd like in the system so you've either got to do it again or tension using the cable stops...
Well, now you can stop all that nonsense and keep full tension on the cables while also installing the bolt. Called the “Fourth Hand” due to it's ever-useful ability to hold the tension for you, this tool will save you so much hassle that it might as well be even more expensive than it is.
