THE FRAME & MATERIAL

This bike has curves. The sexy downward sweep of the top tube amalgamates with the subtle bend of the seat tube, hugged by the seat stays and CVA suspension. The custom forged linkage grabs your eye as you connect the dots that lead you to pivots, 100mm travel of race-ready suspension.

Niner’s Race Day Optimized Carbon Compaction System utilizes a rigid internal mold resulting in a more targeted and consistent compaction of carbon layers allowing an increase in precision for wall thickness and a reduction of resin pooling = reduction in weight, smoothing out the wrinkles and loose fibers toughening up the frame! This process basically makes their carbon some of the best carbon on the market.

CVA SUSPENSION

Constant Varying Arc is an award-winning mountain bike suspension design conceived by Niner. Enhanced around the 29” wheel, their patented CVA has cemented their notoriety for pedaling adequacy while the competition continues to toil with their suspension system. The Jet 9 ultimately delivers with a desired 100mm of fully active travel, astounding acquiescence through the CVA Fox Float RP23 shock. This suspension system is the front-runner for a faster, smoother ride up & down the trail through a combination of technical advantages of the 29” wheel and pedaling efficacy across ALL chainring combinations.

TAPERED HEADTUBE

With change comes improvement, tapering the headtube increases steering precision and torsional stiffness in the front of the bike. This not only improves the handling, but also builds the confidence of a rider shredding corners, descending into a finish line or bombing boulders in the woods.

PRESS FIT 30

When Press Fit 30 raged the stage in 2009 it fundamentally provided significant advantages over the BB30. Bottom bracket shells for PF30 require less precise machining. These bottom brackets are a separate component pressed directly into the frame.

The pros for the PF30 is that manufacturers are using the same technology as the BB30 yet lowering costs, easing assembly, adding the potential for additional seals integrated into the cup/bearing assembly and providing a component that is easier to service over the BB30 interface.
